Conference Agenda

Speakers:

Adrian Peterson: Perhaps the greatest player to ever suit up in Statesboro, Peterson’s No. 3 jersey is retired at Georgia Southern and he still stands as the NCAA’s Division I all-time leading rusher with 6,559 yards in regular-season contests. He is already a member of GS’s Athletics Hall of Fame and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in December. He was a sixth-round draft choice of the Chicago Bears in 2002 and was a Super Bowl XLI participant. He was inducted as a member of the inaugural SoCon Hall of Fame class in 2009 and was a unanimous choice for induction into the Georgia Southern Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2012 in his first year of eligibility. He is well known for his charity work and advocacy of the importance of education. He has dedicated his life to motivational speaking and working with multiple charities. Topic: Don't Dis My Abilities

Sam Glenn: Sam Glenn is one of the most recognized and trusted keynote motivational speakers in the speaking industry. He is most notably sought after for his captivating kick-off and wrap-up general session speeches. Sam’s award-winning speeches set a positive and energetic tone that gets audiences engaged and ready to learn, grow and have fun. Audiences gravitate to his humor, relate to his stories, and embrace his relevant ideas to improve their personal and professional lives. Topic: Attitude is Everything

Jim Warford: Jim Warford is an author, keynote speaker, Leadership and Instructional Coach. In early 2003 he was appointed as Florida’s first-ever K12 Chancellor for public schools. He is a dynamic educational leader and a passionate speaker, drawing on both his powerful personal story and his unique combination of education, business, and creative experience. His session, We Must Maslow Before We Can Bloom: BrainBased Strategies for Creating a Culture of Trust brings brain research out of the lab and into schools. You will learn how to apply brain-based strategies from principals and teachers using them. You will learn why culture is too important to be left to chance, and how positive school culture can be built by design. You will learn that you can use these strategies to “bathe brains” in the neurochemicals needed to improve the culture of any classroom or school. Topic: Brain-based Strategies

Trent North: Superintendent Trent North began his tenure with the Douglas County School System in 2017. As leader of the state’s 17th-largest school district, he oversees 35 schools, 3,300 employees and 25,000 students. Throughout his 28 years in education, he has maintained an unwavering commitment to seeing every student excel. Mr. North has expertise in learning, teaching, and administration at all levels of public education. His influence on educational policies extends throughout Georgia. He is a member of several state committees, including Governor Kemp’s advisory committee on education. In 2021, the Georgia Association for Educational Leaders presented Mr. North with its Vision Award for his leadership in the state. Topic: How to be a 5-Star Principal
