The 2015 Spring Leadership meeting will be held March 16 – 18 at the Wyndham Peachtree Hotel and Conference Center. The theme of this year’s meeting focuses on Georgia’s federal requirement: the State Identified Measurable Results (SIMR). We have designated our SIMR as “Student Success: Imagine the Possibilities” and it is focused on increasing the graduation rate. To accompany the theme there will be required sessions related to budget, data, CEIS. Best Practices for Graduation and other related topics. It is very important that each district send the special education director to participate as we will be providing targeted technical assistance for certain designated districts as well as work together to review district data and discuss federal requirements impacting district special education programs.
