Featuring Keynote Speakers:
John Almarode, Ph.D. is a Professor of Education in the College of Education at James Madison University. At James Madison University, he continues to work with pre‑service teachers and graduate students, as well as actively pursues his research interests including the science of learning and the design and measurement of classroom environments that promote the greatest gains in student learning. John works closely with John Hattie’s Visible Learning research, The Visible Learning® research base represents more than 2,103 meta-analyses comprising more than 132,000 studies involving more than 300 million students around the world. The Visible Learning research has identified more than 350 factors that influence student achievement. Upcoming projects include coaching, and how we, as teachers, evidence our impact on student learning, and the nature and value of struggle in the classroom.
Jim Knight, Ph.D. is a founding senior partner of the Instructional Coaching Group (ICG) and a research associate at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning. He has spent more than two decades studying professional learning, effective teaching, and instructional coaching. Knight has written several books and his articles on instructional coaching have been included in publications such as The Journal of Staff Development, Principal Leadership, The School Administrator, and Teachers Teaching Teachers. He directs Pathways to Success, a comprehensive, district-wide school reform project in the Topeka, Kansas, School District and leads the Intensive Instructional Coaching Institutes and the Teaching Learning Coaching annual conference.

Due to commitments to our facilities, No cancellations/refunds after September 1, 2025. All cancellations after September 1, 2025 will be charged the full registration fee. No-shows will be charged the full registration fee. All cancellations must be in writing. Please email Dr. Claire Buck to cancel clairebuck@gacis1971.org.
