For 48 years, curriculum and instructional leaders have gathered in Athens, GA to learn, share, and connect with other leaders and corporate partners. We were and are thrilled that John Hattie will be the keynote speaker at the 2020 GACIS Fall Conference and despite the virus, we were optimistic that the conference would be face-to-face like the past 48 years.
Unfortunately, the spike in COVID cases in Georgia and across the nation continues to threaten the health and safety of us all. With over 1,000 leaders currently registered and more anticipated, we could not guarantee that we would logistically be able to social distance and safeguard the well-being of all attendees. Plus, traveling in and out of the United States is difficult and increases safety issues for our speakers.
