2019 Annual Kickoff Conference

A 20/20 Vision for Family Engagement

Conference Begins: September 11, 2019 at 2:00 P.M.


The Georgia Department of Education, Division for Special Education Services and Support, will kick off the 18th year of the Georgia Parent Mentor Partnership September 11-13, 2019 at the UGA Center for Continuing Education.  The Georgia Center is conveniently located on the University's South Campus and only minutes away from Downtown Athens. 

The GaPMP Annual Kickoff Conference celebrates the work of each parent mentor and recognizes the support of their district.   Keynote speakers, breakout presentations, and exhibitors will present new ideas and strategies and demonstrate how to put them into action.  Participants will experience three days of active sessions with many opportunities for networking.  This is a great opportunity for parent mentors and directors (or their designee) to develop a 20/20 vision for their own system.

This year, the Partnership will also host an IDEA Implementation Pre-Conference Session, covering the newly updated chapters in the Implementation Manual.  This pre-conference session  will be from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon on the first day of the conference: September 11, 2019, at no additional cost.  Participants will need to register for this pre-conference session, as well as the actual GaPMP Kickoff Conference.
