Join Special Education leaders from across the state as they present a one-day Drive-In Workshop, featuring a General Session followed by Breakout Sessions so that you can choose to attend what you need to learn more about. Topics to be presented were based on requests by special education directors and coordinators, and could include:
- The Perfect IEP Document, Eligibility, and IEP Meetings
- FTE 101/Maximizing FTE Allotments/Budgets
- Scheduling
- Teacher Retention
- Crucial Conversations/Working with Parents
- Dispute Resolution/Complaints
- Mental Health Issues Affecting Students with Disabilities
- Transition for Low Incidence and Adapted Curriculum Students
- Behavior Toolkit to Share with Teachers
- What New Directors will Need to Know
- Wellness: We Need You Healthy with NO Stress!
The IDEAL CANDIDATES to attend this one-day conference are Coordinators, Program Managers, and Specialists, as well as possible new hires and/or aspiring coordinators. A hot, catered lunch will be provided, along with snacks and beverages throughout the day. Parking is free and onsite.

Cancellation Policy: Due to the contracted commitments for facilities, meals/snacks, and partners, cancellations are subject to a $50.00 fee up to one week/seven days before the opening day of the event. After that, the full fee will be charged. No-shows at the event will be charged the full fee. Cancellations must be in writing and emailed to Sarah Burbach (sburbach@gael.org). Substitutions of people attending the conference are allowed. Please notify Sarah Burbach, G-CASE Exec Director, at sburbach@gael.org, of the change so that the appropriate printing of the name badge and billing will be made.
