Coaching: “Working effectively with one’s professional colleagues to improve the academic and behavioral outcomes of students”. This session will review the goals and essential skills related to instructional coaching, and discuss how the instructional coaching model can support Response to Intervention implementation at the building level. Improving Instructional Systems and Supports: Accelerate Learning and Close the Arithmetic to Algebra Gap
Presenter: Paul Riccomini
The purpose of this full-day interactive session is to identify the core principles of effective mathematics programs focusing primarily on the importance of curricula and instructional supports that can help accelerate learning and significantly narrow the achievement gap now referred to as the Arithmetic to Algebra Gap. The session will highlight the challenges of increasing achievement in mathematics and steps Educators, School-based Leaders, District Leaders, and State Leaders can take to respond accordingly. Dr. Riccomini draws upon the most currently available research based evidence for teaching mathematics.
