Students with Disabilities:  What Building Administrators Need to Know!

A one-day overview of essential information for those who deal with students with disabilities at the school level - administrators, counselors, coordinators and department heads. What you need to know about students with disabilities.  Topics include:

      • Students with Disabilities: Who are they? – The law, eligibility, IEP, FAPE, accommodations, placement, LRE
      • Staffing – Inclusion, co-teaching, co-planning, paraprofessionals, small groups, CCRPI, TKES, observations, evaluations
      • Instruction and Accountability – Specialized instruction, use of data, differentiated instruction in general ed classrooms, progress toward goals, grading, professional development
      • Discipline – Behaviors, behavior management, data, short term removals
      • Communication – With parents and staff, attendance at meetings, email communication cautions.
  • Lunch is included with registration

Our conference cancellation policy: Due to commitments to our facilities and partners, cancellations are subject to a $50.00 fee up to one week before the event. After that, the full fee will be charged. No-shows at the event will be charged the full fee.  Cancellations must be in writing. Please email gsmith@gael.org to cancel.
