GASPA’s 2021 Spring Conference

Courageous Leadership:  Leading Beyond the Vision

The Georgia Association of Personnel Administrators is pleased to announce the 2021 GASPA Spring Conference on June 2 - 4, 2021 at the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort.  A tentative agenda will be posted on our GASPA Website  soon.   

You will enjoy spending time with Dr. Mark Scott, Superintendent of the Houston County School System, our keynote speaker, as he presents Land the Job You Love: Creating a Phenomenal Place to Work in Your School System  

Andrea L. Jolliffe of Hall Booth Smith, PC and Dan Murphy of Daniel R. Murphy, P. C.  will be joining us.  They will define and highlight all of the Title IX major changes, as well as offer some practical suggestions to guide school officials in complying with their new duties.

Phil Hartley of Harben, Hartley and Hawkins, LLP will be presenting an always-informative legal issues update.  L. C. (Buster) Evans, Executive Director, Teachers Retirement System of Georgia will present TRS UpdatesFrom the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, you will hear from our Dynamite Duo, Dr. Kelli Young and Windy Fortenberry who will provide important certification updates.  And also, from the GaPSC, Dr. Paul Shaw, Ethics Division Director and Anne Marie Fenton, Director of Rules Management and Educator Assessment will give GaPSC updates.  GASPA’s Legislative Liaison, Michele Thomas, will give a Legislative Update.  In another session, you will hear again from Anne Marie Fenton and Dr. Paul Shaw, who with a panel of school district HR colleagues, will present Addressing Misuse of Social Media by Educators.    Other conference sessions will include “Enhancing Employee Resilience & Wellbeing”, “Geofencing, CTR’s, Creatives, Branding, and More:  The World of Digital/Virtual”, and Round Table Discussions.

What HR Professionals Need to Know about Georgia School Finance presented by Steve Smith, Superintendent of Bleckley County Schools and a session on COVID FFCRA and changes to the law, ADA and leave options. 

 

Hotel reservations can be made online at the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort.  Cutoff date when rooms are released to the general public is May 1, 2021.     

Standard room rate is $287, Resort View rate is $287, Partial Oceanview rate is $302, and Oceanfront rate is $317.  There is a limited number of rooms in each category so reserve rooms early.

PLEASE NOTE:  Online credit cards payments are available.  Online registrations after May 19, 2021 will need to use the credit card option.  All payments by check must be received by May 19, 2021.  Online registration CUT OFF is May 26, 2021.      

On-site conference registration will be $294 plus a $50 on-site registration fee.
